I thought it would be easier to do a few posts to sort of update everyone on what we have been doing rather than one massive post. After getting home from Belgium on Monday, I headed to Bristol and Bath with a co-worker for a UK GAAP training (for those non accountants this is generally accepted accounting principles in the UK which are different than the US...our rule book). We spent the day in Bath on Monday and it was wonderful! Many, many years ago the Romans created these wonderful buildings with baths (pools basically) that were naturally heated from under the ground. We visited the original roman baths and then we headed to a spa down the street to partake! We sat on the rooftop of a building in a steamy hot pool and took in the wonderful sites of Bath. The lit up Cathedrals and Roman buildings were quite stunning, I sat there and couldn't believe where I was! We saw a little of Bristol but only at night as we were in class during the day. Bristol also had many great cathedrals as well as a little river that ran through it with lots of restaurants on the river. This was also another chance for me to take the train and see some of the gorgeous English countryside. I also learned a new term that I still have much difficulty trying to say.....£1 to anyone who can tell me what I am trying to say here:
Is it eck as like!

It might be a another slang for the word "yes." You move around the country and your going to find it is much like it is here in the US, i.e. the South, East, whacko SoCal, etc. Such as, oh aye, auch aye.........meaning oh yes, ah yes.
'eck as like!' I looked it up in a british slang dictionary:
Exclam. Used as a denial in phrases such as "did I eck as like!", "will he eck as like!" etc. Actually stands for heck as like.[Midlands/Northern use]
I'm still 'in bits' over the phrase sounds like a bunch of 'piggly wiggly' to me. =)
